Sujood is a Fard action.
Sujood is the plural of Sajdah. Each Raka'ah has two prostrations (Sajdah) with a Jalsah between them.
From Qawmah, go into Sajdah saying "Allahu Akbar" by placing the knees, hands, nose and forehead, in that order, on the ground.
Men - The elbows are held away from the sides of the body (but not too much) i.e. the arms should not be touching the flanks. The stomach should be a little higher and should not touch the thighs. The palms should be placed flatly on the ground and the fingers pointing towards Qiblah The feet should be at right angles to the ground and toes, with the toes bent facing the Qiblah.
Women - The woman should draw all of her limbs closely together to achieve maximum modesty. Her abdomen will rest on top of her thighs and her arms remain closely at her sides while her forearms lay on the floor. She does not keep her feet upright like men but will be resting to the right of her.
While in Sajdah recite the following three times:
سُبْحَانَ رَبِّیَ الْاَعْلٰی
(Glorified is my Lord, the Most Exalted).
This completes the first Sajdah. Without delay, saying Allahu Akbar rise to sit in Jalsah.
Briefly sit in Jalsah and then saying Allahu Akbar perform the second Sajdah.
Immediately on reciting Tasbeeh of Sujood three times in the second Sajdah stand up for the next raka’ah/rise to sit in Qa'dah while saying the Takbeer.
