Jalsah is a Waajib action. It is the sitting position between sujood.
Saying the Takbeer, rise from the first prostration (Sajdah) and briefly sit in the position of Jalsah.
Men - should spread out the left foot and sit on it, the right foot will be raised with the toes facing in the direction of Qiblah (see illustration). The palms are placed on the thighs and the eyes are lowered to look at the lap.
Women - for the bottom to be on the ground and for the feet to emerge from the right side, with the left foot being under the right foot (see illustration). The palms are placed on the thighs and the eyes are lowered to look at the lap.
On completing the Jalsah, perform the second Sajdah.

Jalsah is a Waajib act.
To be motionless (stationary) in Jalsah for at least the duration its takes to say SubhanAllah once.
To perform the second Sajdah as soon as the Jalsah has been completed (any pause should be less than it takes to recite SubhanAllah three times).
To spread the fingers on the thighs except when the time of proclaiming the Shahaadah comes, just like it is done in Qa'dah Oola and Akheerah.
To adopt the following positions:
Men: for the bottom to rest on the left foot and for the right foot to upright with the toes bent towards the Qiblah.
Women: for the bottom to be on the ground and for the feet to emerge from the right side, with left foot being under the right foot.
